An hommage of sort to Julieanne Kost’s book “Window Seat”…
I always ask for a window seat when I fly, plan where I’ll sit based on the anticipated light direction and keep at least a point and shoot camera handy at all times. This was one of roughly 150 images I snapped while flying to Montreal on Christmas eve. The snow dusting covering and enhancing the relief features made for some beautiful abstract images in the late afternoon light…

Frigatebirds are fascinating birds that can stay aloft for over a week at a time. They are also “kleptoparasitic” and like to steal their food (and nesting materials) from other birds — including other frigates as seen in this picture.
