Vectorial Elevation is a large-scale temporary public art installation comprised of 20 robotic 10,000-watt searchlights that illuminates Vancouver’s English Bay throughout the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. The light patterns can apparently be seen from 15 kilometres away.

What a day at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics! I shot over 1800 frames in a single day — and it could have been a lot more if the weather had cooperated…
This is my best frame from the short track event I attended at the Pacific Coliseum. It’s from the Men’s 1500m short track semi-final. Jung-Su Lee from Korea won the gold medal. The image is pretty much straight out of the camera with minor exposure and white balance adjustments – it’s not even cropped!
