2008Skunk Cabbage
North Cascades National Park, Washington, USA
Canon Powershot SD500 | 1/30 sec | F/2.8
It’s been a while since I posted a shot taken with my SD500 — but I often find myself using it for macro shots as I don’t have a good macro lens.
This is a split tone of a skunk cabbage shot that I grabbed while hiking Easy Pass in North Cascades National Park. The lines in the skunk cabbage leaves are rather lyrical and I found myself repeatedly stopping to frame new images…

Has an otherworldly look to it, etherial. Love it!

Woaw, j’ai parcouru tes photos, et sincèrement, c’est juste magnifique! Un très beau graphisme, les sujets originaux… Bref, beaucoup de plaisir à contempler tes images. Excellente continuation! 🙂

my grandmother warned me about skunk cabbage. Makes you stink if you touch it. Ah but so beautiful..,

Great shot. This just proves it never hurts to have a P&S hanging around at all times.
Love the blue tone.

First of all it is a great macro photo.
No way for me to find out what this could be.
I first had to google what a “skunk cabbage” looks like.
Funny thing is, that they are growing in my neighborhood and I never knew their name.
