2008Bighorn Sheep
Entiat, Washington, USA
Canon EOS 40D | ISO 640 | 200mm | 1/500 sec | F/4.0
Driving back from a trip to the North Cascades, I came across a herd of 30 to 40 bighorn sheep. They were daringly scrambling up some steep 5th class terrain by the Columbia River. Although the shooting conditions were far from ideal, I like the various characters in this frame and the movement that flows through it.

Wow … I love this, Anne! Esp. like the way the sheep blend into the background.

I really like the complexity here. There’s a lot going on that almost make this look like a painting. Once you’re able to really pull out the sheep, they have a great flowing line that draws you through the rest of the image. Looks like the little one’s getting ready to eat it though!!!
