2008Self-Portrait II
Bisti Badlands, New Mexico, USA
Canon EOS 5D | ISO 100 | 16mm | 1/25 sec | F/22
Another self-portrait from the Bisti Wilderness. I’m not sure what inspired me to take these self-portraits beside the fact that I never saw a single soul in my 2-day exploration of the area. Blame it on social deprivation! 🙂

Excellent. Beautiful scene.

Great lines in this. I especially like the color treatment, it really works with the image. And yes, I’ve seen what you get like when socially deprived 🙂
Mark
Very nice. The color changes make this picture really work.

This is a very strong shot indeed. When doing this kind of thing it’s easy to concentrate on the shadow silhouette and forget the rest of the scene, but with this the silhouette is strong and fits perfectly into the scene which is great in its own right.

This is a very strong shot. It can be easy to forget about the rest of the scene when you’re doing this kind of shadow silhouette, but here both the silhouette and the scene are strong and work really well together.

Wow! This is a great shot. Love the perspective.
janko
social deprivation seems to be a great inspiration in that case. Creative selfportrait, way better than most “shadow play” you mostly see.
