A handful of the more than one billion copies of the Little Red Book in print in the world. This makes Quotations From Chairman Mao Tse-Tung the third most popular publication after the Bible and… the combined printings of all Ikea catalogs!! (Source: Wikipedia)

I’m from China and we used to have these little red books around our house. I was born after the Cultural Revolution, but my parents and sister used to have to memorize passages from these books. And according to my father, Mao is a very poetic writer. Though my father is very critical of the communist party and what Mao had done during the Cultural Revolution, he often quotes some of the poems and passages written by Mao.

Great shot! I love the variation in covers. Good composition too, the angle the books make with the frame really makes the shot stand out.
