2005Deities in the Dew
Red Mountain, Washington, USA
Canon Powershot SD500 | 1/50 sec | F/2.8
Processed as a duotone
I got turned around by rain, fog, slippery slabs and tricky route finding on my attempt to scramble up Red Mountain this past week-end. A possible blessing in disguise, I ended up taking many more pictures than expected — including a series of macro shots of dew-covered shrubberies…
Adrian Kostrubiak
Whoa. That’s a really nice shot. Wish the depth of field was greater, but I know how difficult that can be with a macro lens.

The B&W of the droplets are really interesting.
The restricted colours work really well.

I love the way the entire flower it covered with droplets as though it was made of them to begin with. duotone was an excellent choice as it accentuates the drops and takes away distractions.
Good Job.
zac
great shot! i like the duotone a lot.
tom
wow, thats a really stunning photo. I’ve never seen dew on a flower like that. It looks sureal.
Tommy
Stunning is the word! The DOF is a bit short for my taste as well, but the lighting those drops!…damn! 🙂 The background is really nice as well, blurry but clear enough to see that there are many more like this one surrounding it. Great stuff. 🙂 Pacific Northwest is the best!

It’s amazing how you translate the language of our Nature in frozen moments that are not only inspiring, but make us think about how precious is our daily moments – how rich is this Life!

What draws me to this picture is the lighting. The light on each of the water droplets is fantastic. Love the focus.
