~xlnt portrait here, would have to assume it works equally as well in b&w; the depth of that stare on the subject is what grabbed me immediately, and the vert. composition is also well noted…possibly a slight bit of hot light on the raised arm and cheeks, a bit of burning in PShop or a touch of play using the curves in PShop would help out~
I agree that it’s the eyes that grab you on this one; they’re very deep, very here-and-now, and yet still very far away.
I’m most curious about your naming for this shot, though: how is the girl’s Muslim-ness apparent and/or relevant?
